Stopped in at 53 on Ross and was genuinely impressed. The vibe is modern but comfortable, and it’s a great spot to actually relax and enjoy your meal. Service was smooth, friendly, and on point the whole time. I had the lasagna, and wow — super flavourful, rich, and satisfying without being heavy. Everything tasted fresh and well put together, and the portion was perfect. You can tell this is a kitchen that cares about what they’re putting out. Red Deer has some solid restaurants, and 53 on Ross definitely stands out. Will 100% be back.

Unique, delicious food, simply made often with local ingredients. Small but good selection of cocktails, plus wine and beer. Servers are knowledgeable and attentive without being pushy.

We had a great experience here tonight! They have lots of great vegetarian options and I also loved that they have a mocktail menu. Service was excellent despite them being busy and the food was phenomenal.

53 on Ross is hands down the best restaurant in Central Alberta, and rivals anywhere you can eat high quality, creative food any where in Canada. The experience begins with Phil, a Brit expat who know his way around the kitchen offering creative, rotating tapas, small, medium, and large plates. His culinary style is European influenced and you don’t leave hungry with above average size portions. The pork chop and steak dishes are ridiculously good. and the weekend brunch offered English Breakfast is outstanding. The servers are exceptional, as are the bartenders who will customize orders on request. I had a passion fruit whiskey sour on request from Avery, and it was phenomenal. Manager, Tom, also a Brit, brings the English charm to his role, checking in every single time we dine. The restaurant is housed in the historic Farthington Block on Ross Street, and boasts an open-air frontage with an awning-covered patio. After dark, there’s no better place to be on a patio with the light casting shadows through the trees surrounded by fresh flowers and awesome food/drink. 53 on Ross is a “third place” getaway for anyone looking for a unique, creative, sophisticated dining experience rivaling anything you’ll find in Calgary, Edmonton, or even Toronto or Montreal. Pay a visit and thank me later;)

I very very much enjoyed myself. Came solo and sat at the bar. Drink menu was amazing and landed on the bartenders favourite tequila drink. Pasta was fresh and delicious. Everything here was perfect and total REDDEER gem! Definitely returning to explore the rest of the menu. Live music outside and dinning room was small but very welcoming and quiet.

Absolutely phenomenal care, attention and service from GM Lucy and Chef Phil at this wonderful restaurant! They showed the utmost care and respect in regards to severe food allergies, from working with us prior to arrival, to the attention Lucy showed in informing the wait staff and bar staff, and her own preparations of our table and menus, to connecting us for a discussion with Chef Phil prior and during our visit. Lucy and Phil served us directly and it gave us great peace of mind regarding the ingredients in the food served to my family, enabling us to relax and enjoy our time out. The food was delicious -- a blend of both international flavours and familiar ingredients, dishes and concepts, so there is something for everyone. I am excited for Red Deer's culinary scene with the arrival of 53 and Ross and Chef Phil's dedication to his craft. This will be our go-to upscale dining choice when we are in Red Deer, and it makes me so happy to know we have a place we can feel comfortable in. Wonderful service, concept, and food. Thank you Lucy and thank you Chef Phil!
